Invitational OLD GOLDIES Reunion

LEGENDS ARE LINED UP HERE !!!

This special competition class is exclusively for former champions who no longer participate in regular competitions and for judges who want to showcase their skills. Participation is by invitation only, offering a unique opportunity to step back into the ring without affecting current rankings.

This class serves as a tribute to former champions and judges, giving them the chance to continue sharing their passion and expertise within the grooming community.

This is only an Invitational Class.

1.00pm : FINAL LIFE TIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARDS

One Unified Class: All participants, regardless of their previous category (Handstripping, Spaniels & Setters, Poodles, or Other Pure Breeds Scissoring), will compete together in a single class.
Three Winners: The judges will select the top three groomers from all participants, 1st, 2nd and 3rd.
Extended Time Limits: To allow participants to demonstrate their expertise at the highest level, grooming times will be extended by 25%

DAVID JONATHAN

Jonathan David has had a very diverse career in the world of dogs. From a young age, he began in the show ring breeding and exhibiting multiple breeds. As a graduate of the Nash Academy, Jonathan had a very successful grooming competition career and has been the recipient of multiple scissoring awards, multiple Best All Around Groomer awards and Best In Show earning him a position on Groomteam USA in 2008 and 2009. Jonathan was also a contestant on Animal Planets “Groomer Has It” Season 1 and has been featured as a grooming expert on multiple Animal Planet television shows as well as ABC’s “The View.” Before moving to Florida he owned and operated a very successful mobile grooming business in NYC boasting a long list of celebrity clientele. Currently, Jonathan lives in south Florida where he divides his time between running his mobile pet grooming business, being a brand specialist for Kenchii Grooming, and traveling internationally as an award winning Speaker and Judge.

Barbara Prueckel

Barbara Prueckel is the owner of Doggie Style Salon in Calgary, Alberta, Canada since 1997. Canada’s first ‘invitation only’ grooming salon.

Some of Barb’s accomplishments include several Gold and Silver medals, Best in show and Best all-around groomer awards at prestigious grooming contests, both in Canada and Internationally such as Intergroom’s International Groomer of the Year, the winner of The World Poodle Tournament in Las Vegas for three years in a row and a gold medalist with her Bichon at the World Grooming Contest in Spain.

Barkleigh Honours ‘Judge of the Year’ in 2015.

Barb was a proud member of Groom Team Canada for 12 years, and the captain for 8 years.

She has been on the European Grooming Association’s judges list since 2004, fortunate to judge beautiful work overseas for almost 20 years including the World Dog Grooming Championships twice.

She also has been a proud member of the ‘Wahl Extreme Stylist Team’ in Canada for 22 years.

She has had the pleasure of speaking and judging in many countries including Brazil, England, India, Italy, Spain, Germany, Columbia, France, Netherlands, Ireland, Australia, Belgium, Taiwan, Japan, Canada and the United States.

Her specialty is motivational speaking for her fellow pet stylists. She has given her ‘Ignite Your Passion, Unleash your Potential’ seminar in 7 different countries, helping her colleagues with their self esteem, grooming skills and growing successful businesses.

Barb and her husband Mark produced Mastergroom Canada, the largest and most prestigious grooming show in the country for 5 consecutive years in Calgary, Alberta.

As a proud ambassador for Melanie Newman Salon Essentials, she has found an excitement for educating groomers and pet parents worldwide on the benefits of proper skin and coat management with a product everyone can feel good about using on their pets. She is looking forward to many years of working with such an outstanding company in the industry.

Costin Stoica

Costin Stoica began his grooming career in 2013 after moving from Romania to England, which became his adopted home. Although he always loved dogs, he never imagined pursuing dog grooming professionally. His journey into grooming started in 2015 when he competed with a Westie in the Handstripping Class and immediately fell in love with the craft. Passionate about shape and balance, he also loves teaching and cannot see himself doing anything else.

Since 2020, Costin has been a proud member of the Artero Styling Team. One of his greatest achievements was being part of the Gold Medal-winning team at the 2022 World Team Championships in Belgium, where he earned the World Champion title in Handstripping with his Fox Terrier.

His outstanding achievements include RBIS at The Grooming Show 2016, BIS at English Groomers Challenge 2017, Rising Star Award Winner 2019, Up and Coming Groomer of the Year 2019, BIS at German Grooming Games 2019, BIS at The Grooming Show 2020, RBIS Master Groom 2022, RBIS Premier Groom 2022, and 1st place with Groom Team England at the 2022 World Team Grooming Championships in Belgium. He was also awarded Groomer of the Year in 2021, nominated for Grand Champion Groomer of the Year in 2022, and won Judge of the Year in 2023. In 2025, he will serve as a judge at Victoria Grooming in Mexico.

Beyond competing, Costin shares his expertise at major international grooming events, including Groomania, Artero Jornadas, and Mundo Groom Brazil.

A multi-award-winning groomer, he specializes in Poodles and Fox Terriers and has competed and judged in the UK, Poland, France, Spain, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, and Belgium.

His motto: “Work smart, not hard” – and never stop learning.
