How It Works

1. Annual Competition in Two Countries

• The Diamond Jackpot Class is hosted annually at:

  • Groomania (Belgium)

  • Mastergroom Canada

• Each country crowns its own annual champions, celebrating excellence at a local level, while contributing to the global competition.

2. Prizes for Annual Champions

• Each year, the top three competitors at Groomania and Mastergroom Canada receive the following prizes:

  • 1st Place: €2,000 (or CAD $3,000)

  • 2nd Place: €1,400 (or CAD $2,000)

  • 3rd Place: €1,000 (or CAD $1,500)

• Prizes are calculated based on the official bank exchange rate to ensure fairness.

3. Building the Grand Jackpot

• Each participating event contributes €2,500 (approximately CAD $3,750) to a shared Jackpot Pot.

• Over three years, this pot grows to an extraordinary prize of €15,000 (or CAD $22,500).

• The Grand Winner is crowned at the last show of 2026 at Groomania.

Cumulative Point System

1. Earning Points at Every Event

• Competitors accumulate points at both Groomania and Mastergroom Canada, based on placement:

  • 1st Place: 10 points

  • 2nd Place: 8 points

  • 3rd Place: 6 points

  • 4th Place: 4 points

  • Participation: 1 point

2. Winning the Grand Jackpot

• The competitor with the highest total points after three years is crowned the Grand Winner, earning the coveted Jackpot Prize.

• In case of a tie, an anonymous vote by the judges from the past three years will determine the winner.

Rules and Eligibility

1. Open to Official Classes

Competitors may participate in any official class, including:

• Handstripping

• Poodles (Toy, Miniature, Medium, Standard)

• Spaniels and Setters

• Pure Breeds Scissoring

Time limits align with the official class standards to ensure fairness and consistency. (See Groomania and Mastergroom rules for details.)

2. Participation Requirements

• Competitors must enter at least one Diamond Jackpot event per year to remain eligible for the Grand Prize.

3. Judging System

• Five judges will evaluate each competitor at Groomania.

• Points will be displayed openly so all participants can see their scores.

Judges evaluate entries based on:

• Suitability of style to the breed standard.

• Skill and execution difficulty.

• Overall balance, symmetry, and finish.
